Career Background
Emma is a senior family solicitor at Austins, Penny and Thorne,
and has practised family law in the Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead
area for over 12 years. Emma has significant experience in all
aspects of family law, particularly divorce and financial settlements,
and children cases involving contact and residence issues.
Austins Penny and Thorne is a long established high street practice
with offices in Berkhamsted and Luton (known as Austins).
Collaborative Approach
Emma recognises that many people want to maintain control of
the separation process and avoid the emotional and financial cost
of going to court.
The collaborative approach brings separating couples and their
lawyers together in four-way meetings to identify what really
matters to the couple and how best to settle things in a holistic,
equitable way. Assets become more than just the bricks and mortar;
they include future family relationships.
